Abstract

Community service and empowerment is one of the real works of implementing higher education tridharma. Through the work program of the North Maluku Muhammadiyah University Social Work Lecture (KKS), students together with field supervisors and the community work to solve problems that exist at the location of KKS activities. The problems found in South Tolonuo Village are that the community's awareness of protecting the environment is still lacking, the lack of educational facilities, the implementation of community customs and culture is not paid enough attention to, especially by young people, and the ability to read and write the Koran is also lacking. For this reason, several community service and empowerment work programs have been carried out, including cleaning the environment with the community, conducting study assistance in several schools and early childhood education, forming recitation groups and holding arts and cultural performances involving youth in South Tolonuo Village. It is hoped that all of these activities will be continued by the community even though the presence of KKS students has ended in South Tolonuo Village.
